Academic Opportunities
At the Academy of Alameda, we honor the brilliance and potential of every student. Rooted in a commitment to equity, access, and social justice, we provide a learning environment where students of all backgrounds are honored, supported, and challenged to thrive. For students ready to stretch their thinking, we offer advanced opportunities accelerated math and specialized electives in technology, band, orchestra, and the arts.

We also believe in meeting students where they are and walking beside them as they grow. For students who need additional support, we offer more targeted interventions such as small group instruction during advisory/tutorial periods and after-school academic support, ensuring every learner has the tools to succeed.

We know that strong connections between school and home are essential to student success. That’s why we prioritize meaningful partnerships with families, working together to support academic achievement, personal growth, and a sense of belonging for every child.

How Social Justice is Embedded in our Program

In our English and history programs, students examine the danger of a single story and the importance of understanding diverse perspectives. Through literature, primary sources, and discussion, they learn to question the past, analyze current events, and engage critically with the world around them. At AoA, we are committed to ensuring that all voices and narratives are recognized, respected, and celebrated.
