Brian, who is known to many as Coach Burger, joins us with an extreme desire to walk along side of students and guide them in the direction of prosperity and success. His passion for the youth began in 2008 when he began his career with the YMCA of the East Bay. Coach Burger's favorite quote is: “I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed” (Booker T. Washington, 1901).
Coach Burger is no stranger to obstacles or adversity and has perfected the tactics needed to persevere. Coach Burger is an extreme sports fanatic. He is a die hard Cowboy, Warrior and Yankee fan. In his spare time he enjoys raising his son - Brian Jr., playing video games and creating music. As a Oakland native, Coach Burger can be spotted at local high school sports games; coaching, cheering and encouraging those that he once taught and still mentors.
Coach Burger has been at AoA for four years. He believes this community is like no other! It has a strong sense of belonging and gives you an extended family.
